Pablo Neruda Apartment
The Pablo Neruda Apartment is a small and graceful apartment located on the third floor (without elevator) of Palazzo Marigliano dedicated to the memory of Pablo Neruda. The apartment has 1 double bedroom communicating with a dining area and 1 double sofa bed, 1 small well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower.
During his years in exile, Pablo Neruda found himself in Capri in 1952 where he was a guest of Italian historian Edwin Cerio. His stay on the island was fictionalized in Antonio Skarmeta‘s 1985 novel Ardiente Paciencia (later known Neruda’s Postman), which inspired the popular film Il Postino. Upon his return to Naples, he printed for the first time his poignant work “Los Versos del Capitan” at Palazzo Marigliano by the Arte Tipografica in July 1952. Only 44 samples were published and were unfortunately not for sale.
